The pressure points on the feet correspond to different areas of the body, so therefore massaging these areas can have a positive effect on organs and systems of the body. Maternity reflexology helps to relieve many conditions which effect the female body as it goes through the significant changes of having a baby - emotional, hormonal and physical changes. Reflexology can help to bring balance to the body at this time and restore the bodies equilibrium. It can also be used to encourage labour as well as shorten the labour time, assist natural delivery and support good breast feeding. INDIAN HEAD MASSAGE IHM uses traditional ancient eastern techniques of massage and manipulation of the upper back, shoulders, arms, neck and scalp for relaxation and to promote well being. It is renowned as an antidote for stress, muscle relaxation and maintaining health and wellbeing. IHM is a deep style of massage which derives from the Ayurvedic tradition that has been practiced in India for thousands of years. Ayur (life) and veda (knowledge) is one of the worlds oldest holistic healing systems. IHM works through a number of different techniques of massage, which works to release any toxins or blocked energy in the body and the chakras, this therefore allows a free flow of energy around the body, restoring the individual to optimum health and feeling of wellbeing. IHM is a non invasive treatment, the client is sat upright in a chair and the massage usually lasts about 35-40 minutes and i tend to use certain oils in the hair and on the body (the massage can be performed without oils on request). I tend to focus the massage initially on the shoulders and upper back before moving onto the arms and hands and finishing off with a deeply relaxing head and face massage. IHM can help with: • Relieving built up tension • Headaches and migraines • Boosting immunity and improves energy levels • Sinus problems • Insomnia and sleeplessness • Improving overall mental health I am Fully qualified and first aid trained, I am also a member of the International Federation of Reflexology.
