act up was founded in 1999 by Gemma Lloyd and was joined in 2010 by Martin Edwards to assist with the expanding Outreach Programme. We are an independent organisation specialising in communication and acting training. We run short, part-time courses and bespoke, on-site training for people in business. Bar Gemma Lloyd, everyone else involved in act up are very much working, established actors or industry practitioners. All of our courses run regularly throughout the year, based in London: they are open to anyone over the age of 18. Among those attending are participants who travel from as close as the next street, right across London, or as far afield as Birmingham, Sheffield and Exeter.
