16 Weeks Conversational Thai Course Course Description: This course is run twice per year, from February – May and again from August – December. - 32 hours over 16 weeks, one 2-hours class per week - Ideal for long-term learning, busy people or those studying for fun - Fits easily into your life - Sociable and relaxed atmosphere Course Contents: The course consists of sixteen modules that have been carefully structured and designed to be interactive and communicative, covering a wide range of topic areas: - Spoken communication to build confidence in interacting with native Thai speakers - Listening and comprehension skills to improve understanding - Grammar and sentence structure - Everyday language for use in real-life situations, both listening and speaking - Vocabulary - Pronunciation - Conduct by a native Thai tutor Competencies: The learners are expected to be able to deal with situations likely to arise whilst travelling in Thailand and to be able to communicate with the native Thai speakers in the basic conversational areas such as shopping, ordering in a restaurant, asking for directions, making requests, talking about yourself and family etc. Time Commitment: The course involves 32 hours of classroom time and 32 hours of independent study.
