I have been trained in Person-Centred Counselling since 1993, Solution Focused Therapy since 2006 and more recently in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to Diploma level. I am a member of the British Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies, (BABCP), the lead organisation for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in the UK and now specialise in CBT to provide a professional and confidential counselling service within the Mid-Essex area. I am currently studying for an Masters degree in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and am also undertaking a clinical placement as an associate counsellor at Cambridge University, where I provide support to students and staff. I remain a member of the Nursing and Midwifery Council, (NMC), and I adhere to the standards of conduct, performance and ethics of both the NMC and BABCP. I am fully covered by public liability insurance and I am CRB checked. It is important to tailor the approach to the needs of the individual client and this can be done in a seamless fashion. I have worked successfully with clients of all ages from a wide variety of backgrounds covering a wide range of problems including abuse, addiction, depression, social phobia and trauma. I have also been a volunteer at the Chelmsford Rape Crisis Centre. It is important for a client and therapist to build a bond of trust and to feel comfortable with each other. I provide warmth with intelligent professionalism to enable my clients to explore, understand and find solutions to their problems. I carefully and sensitively assess the needs of my clients to ensure they make full use of the service and support available. Sessions take place within a cosy and relaxing summerhouse at my home address in the semi-rural village of Galleywood on the outskirts of Chelmsford in mid-Essex. I provide a confidential and safe environment for you to work in. Off street parking is readily available and bus routes to and from Chelmsford Town Centre are close by. Evening and weekend appointments are usually available.
