Talk itThru Counselling Service
Norwich, Norfolk
Whatever the problem it can help to Talk it Thru I offer an integrative approach tailored to the needs of each individual or couple We all have times when problems seem to overwhelm us and we feel we can't move forward. Sometimes we can unburden ourselves by talking to others but talking things through with a counsellor goes much further. It is popularly said that "a problem shared is a problem halved" but sometimes we don't want to trouble family members or friends and talking things through with those close to us can even be unhelpful as they can be too involved to give us the unbiased support we need. As a qualified counsellor you can be assured that I would have no personal agenda and would never criticise or judge you, instead I would offer you a safe and confidential environment where you can talk and we can work things through together. I know from my own experience how important it is to find a therapist that you feel comfortable with, so our first session together would be an informal, no obligation meeting to ensure that we can work together There are many reasons that people seek counselling such as: Grief or emptiness following a bereavement, the end of a relationship or other loss Feelings of depression or sadness Difficulty coping with stresses in your life Anger management Generalised anxiety disorder Anxiety, panic attacks or phobias Issues with low confidence or low self esteem Eating disorders Relationship issues, Repeatedly becoming involved in unsatisfying or destructive relationships Addictive or self-destructive behaviour Experience of trauma, violence or abuse whether currently or in the past Needing support whilst caring for someone with an illness, addiction or disability Recently experienced divorce, redundancy or health issues Workplace relationships and work related stress (I offer a special rate for NHS staff) Having trouble making important decisions. Stuck in a rut Wanting to achieve balance in life

Teri Watkin Counselling
Fakenham, Norfolk
Counselling is often talked about in terms of the length of time the client meets with the counsellor. Short term counselling is suited to those who come with a specific issue that they wish to think about and usually lasts about six to eight weeks. Everything that we talk about is focussed on the particular issue being addressed and together we will think about which ‘tools’ will be most helpful in enabling the issue to be addressed. We may do some solution-focussed work, we may use CBT, we may think about writing that you have done or images that you have created – I will adjust to what suits each individual. Long-term counselling is much more open-ended and is suited to people who come with a general sense of wanting to change things, of life being ‘difficult’, or with a history of broken relationships. Rather than focussing in on a specific issue, we will allow the therapy to take its own course. When working long-term I build reviews into the therapy so that we can track how things are going and make adjustments as and when necessary. Counselling sessions last for 50 minutes. I usually set aside a regular time and day for each client but am happy to be flexible where work/family commitments don’t allow this.

Norwich Bereavement Counselling
Norwich, Norfolk
The loss of someone close to you is the single most painful event that any of us will experience on our journey through life. Counselling doesn''t provide the answer to grief but it does create a space in which to explore your feelings.
