Our philosophy at Your London Wedding Planner is very simple: we provide a totally personal service, working closely with couples to ensure that every detail of their wedding is exactly as they have imagined it and perfectly reflects their unique personalities. We only take on a small number of assignments at any one time so that we can give couples our undivided attention and we only work with top-end, trusted wedding professionals and exclusive venues to create sophisticated and truly exquisite occasions. What I love about planning weddings is the highly personal element and the real significance of these occasions for those taking part. Every event presents its own logistical challenges but a wedding offers unique possibilities for creative planning, which is my passion. There is nothing more satisfying than working closely with a couple over many months to translate their vision into a beautiful, stylish and highly personal occasion which they, their families and friends will never forget. How Do You Work? The quality of relationships we develop with couples is very important to us. Our clients will tell you that when you work with me, you not only get someone who is highly knowledgeable, organised, very hard working and totally trustworthy but also open, sensitive and down to earth. Before we take on any new assignment I personally take time to get to know the couple, share their personal vision and ensure that we are on the same wavelength. They are going to be entrusting every detail of their special day to my personal care so it’s vital that they feel comfortable about working with me. The success of our collaboration will flow from our achieving a genuinely mutual trust and sympathy so one of the first issues we discuss at the initial consultation is exactly what the couple wants from me. If they already have a very clear idea of their dream wedding, but simply don’t have the time or expertise to make it happen, that is relatively straightforward. On the other hand, if they are less decided and need to explore the endless possibilities with me, that’s also fine. We also find it very helpful to agree our mutual roles and define the boundaries at the outset so that everyone is crystal clear about what is expected of them. At the end of the day we never forget that it’s totally your wedding–you make the decisions and our job is to make the entire planning process as smooth and stress-free as possible so that you can enjoy your special day to the full. What is your idea of the perfect wedding? Every wedding is unique and highly personal, but for me it would have all the hallmarks of a traditional wedding but with some creative, personal touches. I love Osterley Park House for its natural beauty, elegant colonnades, the long sweeping drive up to the house and grand staircase for me to make a dramatic entrance. I would probably arrive in a beautiful 1949 classic Bentley and my bouquet would be red and white roses symbolising unification and unity – nothing too elaborate as I would want to toss it after the ceremony! The reception would be champagne and canapes all the way – with a harpist playing in the background, followed by a traditional sit-down wedding breakfast for my closest family and friends. The cake would be a traditional three tier in a neo-classical style to match the wedding venue and in the evening there would be live entertainment like T6 band who I know would have everyone up and dancing. Boracay in the Phillipines would be perfect for a honeymoon, my personal idea of paradise – long sandy beaches, crystal clear water and very hot!
