Experience I have seven years experience within the counselling field and have worked with a wide variety of people presenting a wide range of life issues including stress, anxiety, depression, debt, addictions ( prescription/non prescription drugs, alcohol and smoking) bereavement, anger, relationship issues separation and divorce, feelings of helplessness, pregnancy related issues, low self confidence and work related issues. I have a range of experience within the Lancashire and Cheshire area within both the voluntary and charity sectors. Additionally, 5 years experience within male and female custodial settings working with clients and their families. A substantial amount of my work has been with substance users which includes prescription and non-prescription drugs along with alcohol. I have gained an in depth knowledge of the difficulties substance misuse can present in the day to day life of the substance user along with their families. Qualifications & Training Bsc in Therapeutic Counselling Diploma in Person Centred Counselling Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapists (MBACP) Whilst trained in several areas of counselling, I predominantly work using the Person Centred Model, which is non-directive and aims to empower you to use your own internal resources to work through any issue, to help you move forward and bring about positive changes in your life. Our time together will allow you to explore your thoughts and feelings I am a member of The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapists (MBACP) and abide by its ethical framework.
