We acknowledge it can take a lot of courage to enter into a therapeutic counselling relationship as the first step is to pick up the telephone; we also know that counselling is not for everyone which is why we offer you a FREE 30 minute consultation. This gives you and either Diane or Yvonne an opportunity to meet, for us to tell you what we have to offer, explain a little bit about counselling, what it is and what it hopes to achieve if you no prior knowledge or understanding. This will also be your time to share as little or as much about what is bringing you into counselling. At the end of the FREE 30 minute consultation you will hopefully know whether you feel counselling is for you and Ivy Low Counselling is the place for you. It can be scary the thought of entering into a counselling relationship; it can also be challenging but more importantly it can be a posiive experience and rewarding You are important to us and we want you to feel you are in the best hands to share your feelings and what is impacting on you so following your consultation if you want to go away and think about it then that is okay. Do you feel stuck with a problem, trapped in a cycle of destructive behaviour? Can see no way forward? Feel that you are alone with these feelings? We know it is easy for us to say, but "please don''t despair, we can assure you, you are not alone and there are many people experiencing similar feelings to yourself" Perhaps you are having difficulty sleeping, feel exhausted, tearful, anxious, flying off the handle with those closest to you, over or under eating, mood swings, increased alcohol consumption, can''t trust anyone, carrying around feelings of guilt, emotions running away, angry, want to forgive but unable, feeling lonely, sad, overwhelmed, powerless, unable to cope on your own or life in general just unbearable and not functioning as you would like. These are typical of what our clients have shared with us and worked through as they wanted to make sense of things and regain control of their lives and they did. At this moment reading this you might be thinking - it''s too good to be true or this only happens to others - We say "it can happen to you as well" So go on pick up the phone to arrange your FREE 30minute consultation. You have everything to gain. We have experience of working with many presenting issues and here are just a few: Relationships Childhood Issues Bereavement and Loss Mental Health Domestic Abuse Sexual Identity Bullying and Harassment Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, (LGBT) Work Related Issues Life Events Anxiety and Stress Low Self Esteem Lack of Confidence We are situated in an easy accessible location in Ivybridge and also cover Plymouth, Plympton, Plymstock, South Hams and outlying areas. Centred Counselling

Sometimes in this fast paced life we lose track of who we are and what we genuinely want for ourselves, it's easy to become overwhelmed and stuck. This often creates anxiety/depression, which then impacts on self-esteem and decision making. In times of extreme stress its possible to dissociate which can be frightening and confusing. In my practice I can offer you a space where you can begin to unpick and share aloud what is happening for you, even if your not sure. Though it often doesn't feel like it, I believe that each person is unique and has an innate ability towards healing and in my role as a counsellor I will endeavour to journey alongside you as you discover this for yourself. devon and exeter counselling
Exeter, Devon
Acknowledging that we are in need of a Counsellor can be quite a step, particularly as many of us value our ability to work things out for ourselves. Close friends partners and family can be so helpful but sometimes even they cannot give us what we really need. It may be separation or loss that has brought us to this point. Perhaps you are suffering from depression, anxiety or some kind of addictive behaviour or it could be more a vague sense of dissatisfaction and a desire for a greater sense of meaning that is the source of your discomfort. Whatever the issue, Counselling with a skilled Therapist can guide you through periods of difficulty and change towards a deeper understanding of yourself. My style is Integrative, drawing a little on most traditions and focussing particularly on modern Jungian approaches and Psychosynthesis (which attempts to reconcile our higher spiritual dimension with the darker aspects of our personalities) It’s also soulful which means seeing painful experiences, difficulties and suffering not just as things to get over but also as significant in forming character, wisdom and self acceptance. It’s paradoxical but in order to really change we need to fully accept ourselves as we are! I have some concessionary places available I am a registered member of the British association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists and I abide by their ethical framework.
