Surrey Counselling
Camberley, Surrey
I am recently qualified Counsellor offering video-call Counselling only. As I have no premises to think about, I am much more flexible with regards to timing of appointments, availability in times of need as well as each session being a full one hour and not a 50-minute session each time. As a previous psychiatric patient myself (many years ago as an in-patient) I have not only the qualifications, professional training with ongoing supervision and back up, but can offer a true understanding of the issues that present with mental health difficulties. Using a mixture of mainly CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) plans of therapy but interchanged with DBT (Dialectical Behavioural Therapy) underpinned by life experiences and humour when appropriate, you will receive an extremely personalised course of therapy. With CBT, it is most often a 6-week course of treatment due to the constraints of time and the multitude of people looking for help. However, for many people the six weeks just is not long enough so when we have our first meeting, I will make an estimate of time that I would suggest based on your individual circumstances. But this can change, and if it appears that you will require (or wish to) have extra sessions, these can usually be arranged subject to ongoing reviews. I will not suggest a 12-week course of treatment if you are only going to require around six. As well as this, I offer a complete backup service of email or text/call support between sessions. If you find you are really struggling one day then I always reserve some timeslots each day for 10-minute "mini sessions" in order to give you a boost. However, in order to get the most out of the course of therapy, you will be required to actively take part by doing "homework". It sounds dreadful but I try to make the extra work fun where possible. But doing this between session work will help you overall. And I offer lots of guidance by the use of fact sheets, activities and advice - all of which, while based on a set standard, are redesigned by myself to make them very individual. Some of the services I offer include: Trauma/PTSD counselling, Partnership Assistance/Relationship Issues, Depression/Anxiety, Sleep Disorders, Eating Disorders, Interpersonal Relationship Problems, Self-Harm. The list could be endless, so please do contact me if you have any questions. If the booking link on the website does not work (I am using a new service) please email me with the day/s and times you have a preference for and I will do my very best to accommodate your wishes. All clients must be aged over 18. Before committing to book with me, please read my terms and conditions which are on my website - a copy of which will also be emailed to you when we agree a plan. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I really look forward to hearing from you. The first step really is the hardest but after that it gets easier because you have jumped over the fence and want to get help. I am waiting to guide you through your recovery.

I counsel men and women over the age of 16. My work experience includes alcohol / addiction, abuse, anxiety, bereavement, depression, trauma, stress and work/relationship issues. Firstly I value that it is your unique experience that is important in our therapeutic work. I will understand, respect and accept you. Lastly, clients describe me as friendly, easy to talk to and welcoming. I believe it is essential for you to find a counsellor you feel comfortable with.
